![]() With more than 60 potters and potteries that attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, northwest Skåne deserves to call itself Sweden´s ceramic district. Höganäs Keramik - Iittala Outlet For almost 100 years, Höganäs Keramik has been a pioneer in ceramics and has managed to combine its ceramic traditions with modern design. Today, many of Sweden´s best designers are linked to Höganäs Keramik, which is part of the Ittala Group. Höganäs Museum Here you can study the development of modern art ceramics in a fine collection with representative works by different artists. Wallåkra Stenkärlsfabrik South of Helsingborg in Vallåkra there is a real gem, Wallåkra Stenkärlsfabrik, from 1864. Here, the clay is taken directly from the garden. Turning is done by hand, and the clay is then fired and salt-glazed in the coal-fired circular kiln. The factory has become an active cultural centre and includes a restaurant in a warehouse with a babbling brook underneath. Raus Stenkärlsfabrik Pots have been turned and fired in the coal-fired kiln at Raus since 1911. You can still buy the classic Raus pots with their unique glaze. The factory also has an art gallery, Yoshio Nakajima Art Center. The stoneware factory is located 1 km east of Råå. Söderåsen National Park Welcome to Skåne´s wilderness. This is the biggest continuous deciduous forest area in Northern Europe. It is quiet, beautiful and smells nice! There are entrances to the national park in Skäralid and Röstånga. Söderåsen is an attractive place for activities such as walking, canoeing, fishing, cycling, riding and much more. |
